Video Collection|
I first started taping Night Tracks when we got our first VCR in 1985 on its 3rd year kickoff. Unfortunately, in mid 1988 my father took the tape and another Night Tracks tape (Valentine's special 1988) and gave it to my uncle to copy some Taiwanese soap opera shows over them. To this day I am still furious for that incident and took revenge by taping Night Tracks on a regular basis. I am grateful that I did because to this day, I just can't stop watching them especially the ones during my Senior year in High School (1988-1989). I feel like I am back in time to those happy moments. I fall asleep to them and end up dreaming that Night Tracks was back. Life today just isn't the same for me without Night Tracks. Anyway, if you taped Night Tracks (especially pre October 1988), I would love to make a trade or send you a check to cover the shipping, materials, and a little extra. I taped most of them in EP mode (6 hrs. on T-120) and only the latest two are in Stereo and SP mode. Your Night Tracks video tape would be acceptable just as long as the picture is good and the sound is audible. Here is my "want" list:
Currently, I am in the process of converting all of the VHS tapes to DVD-R so no further trades are being accepted at this time. I have come to realize that my VHS collection will NOT last forever especially after each viewing and dubbing. I also have to make it easier for me to carry the dozens of Night Tracks shows with me just in case I have to evacuate again for another hurricane here in the New Orleans area. Luckily I live on the Western side of the now infamous 17th Street Canal so my house only had minor damage from Hurricane Katrina. In the meantime, you can enjoy some of the videos posted on YouTube! Night Tracks episodes are color coded to indicate what type of VHS VCR was used to record Night Tracks broadcasts from TBS Superstation. As you can see, we didn't get our first Hi-Fi stereo VCR until mid 1991. Sigh, I wish that the first VCRs were introduced at least a decade earlier so most of my Night Tracks collection would be in Hi-Fi stereo. Thanks to the introduction of DVD players, the price of 4 head Hi-Fi stereo VCRs have considerably dropped in price. The same 4 head Hi-Fi stereo VCR that costs $500 in 1991 costs only $100 in 2001.
4 head HQ mono VHS VCR 4 head Hi-Fi stereo VHS VCR Unless otherwise stated, most of what I have are recorded in EP mono mode and includes original commercials. How would you like to see a commercial for a 1989 Nissan 240 SX? Hey! What ever happened to California Cooler? You know, that wine cooler beverage? |
